Few year ago, we've start to activate iota and create the "gulls team:)) and we decided every year to active as possible some iota in Britanny.
After Chevalier Isl, Glenan Archipelagos (2 Year ago) we start searching a new iota interresting for everybody.Sein Isl. is one of these because and searching by iota hunters, thanks guy for the pileup and for calling us.
Before starting these storie, we want to "remercier" Desire on Belle Ile for his precious help, Didier on Sein Island for his help and for the really good "acceuil",
F5KKD Radioclub team : F5OZK and Philipe, Michel F5ODF for support us, F8COZ Gilbert for his precious help and everybody who's participate inside theses iota.

Belle Ile Island IN87JI from "Sauzon"

Island storie
Belle Ile en mer is the bigest island in Britanny, 1500 habitant these island is a very active island and very beautiful site.
Travel storie
During this trip i start alone these activation due to Dimitri 's problem. I take the boat in the morning and 45min latter i arrived on the island.
I meet F0EUL Desire and he provide me the house and power supply (better than camping thanks a lot to him:)), he also participate inside our activites :
On arriving , Desire help me for the antenna setup :
I start on 9 am to calling CQ on the 20m after the antenna setup with Desire F0EUL,
we install the G5RV with an impressive setup (see picture here), Bambi Quad for 10/11m is also installed.
We try also to cq on 2m but band was close.

First Day
The first day was a big piluep for me on the afternoon, but very few station on 40m ....
The surprise was on the end of afternoon because Desire make a contact with F5PMB from Paris !
Congrulation to hime and thank a lot to Didier to listen our call.
Second Day
The bad island wind
During the night the wind break an antenna and the other go to the ground ...
after 1 hours of antenna repair i started Cq'ing on 80m.
The band was very quite probably due to end of holiday for a lot of people.
Last 1 hour before return with the boat i decided with Desire to take a photo of beautiful island place,
he present me all of beautifull interesting place on this island here is some photo of you enjoy it (really good walpaper hi hi), tnx a lot for this visit ... only for the eyes :
Finnaly i left the QTH with the boat, with 400 contacts ...
and a lot of photo's and good moment inside my memory ;)
On return to the continent i meet the radio's of the boat and he present me the boat here is the cokptit,

Sein Island
"the new one" of lot of people
To be honnest, i've never went to this island before, i 've really enjoy this trip :)
First day
Travel with the boat and arriving on EU068 on the afternoon :
Didier 's help for setup
Big surprise when i arrived on the island is the ambuance really different to Paris people are really cool, Didier ( who received us) help me on the first day for the setup a special thank to him for his precious help (see on the photo).
First day, arriving take photo like tourist japanese :)
Arriving on this island i start to ... take a lot of photo and install equipements, camp.

The VHF "fortune" station
Here is the special station, finnaly i decided to install VHF to remplace Dimitri's station, of course it was not what we expect to install but it was a "help" station.
I install my 4elem YAGI on the "canne a peche" ;)

The surprise !
I've reallyse a DX with EA1xxx ! (about 650 km) with .... these setup :
i'm not jok ing ... i really make contact, sport, difficult but really nice.
People radio meeting
During this activation we meet a lot of people and explain the radioamator activitie, our activitie look like "martian contact" but after sending info
it was a really nice and sympatic human experience and we were very happy to explain our hobbie.
Photo's trip
I decided to stop radio during the evening to go to take a 100's photo, i discover at the same this island witch is very small (you can travel by foot all of the island in 40min for good runner hi :)

Second day
I start the day by 80m band and 40m finnaly 20m was already the most efficient band to make contact !
Thank to Dimitri for the MFJ equipement sharing, and Fred F5OZK for the antenna analyser share.
Breiz Cola is a very good for nice pileup (redBull can be also powerfull but ... it's not breiz cola:))
Multi-operator's come true :)
David arrive via the boat on 8am, It a good new because now i can sleep a little !!! and turn off the transceiver,and install his antenna
Bad news for him ... the lcd screen of his laptop .... beak inside the travel, it mean all log contact are take on paper ... and must be rewrite !!!! after activitie, good luck David for this rewrite job.
Third day
On the morning the band was very quite we make hundred contact but not really Dx :)
The surprise on lunch time
On the lunch we decided with David to listen the 20m band and try Dxing suddenly we hear station for the olimpique game from China ! so we make contact and chat with the station. We were really surprise to the signal and reception qualitty (see on botom our QTH for reception), no QRM on the band exept EU station call and only one call for us to make contact (here 50w and wire antenna !!! ).
The last but not the least :)
The last afternoon and for the me the biggest pileup i never participate, on the afternoon we turn off station 1 and decided to use only David's station to finish the activation, during 1 hours i break the 500 qso 'log's limit ;)
it 'll be an unforgetable memory for us.
Doing the sport !!! to take the boat GO GO GO
Ours bodies remenber now the effect ....... here is David load with 4 bagages (40kg ...) and me ... like a "Mule" with 60 to 70 kg :)
After 10min of running with our bagages (without any transport like millitary 's run lol)
we just arrived on the boat ... 5min before left the island and lost bagages take's !!!! so we take our equipement with us directly on the boat
People really look on us ... and it was really fun :=)
We hope to see U again on our next iota tour for 2009,
probably with a new new island never listen on amator radio & radioamator band.
